Administrative law is the division of law that regulates the government’s decision making. Our team will assist you in relation to decisions of administrative units of government that are part of the executive branch.
Examples of administrative decisions that may be challenged under the administrative law principles;
- Refusal of a municipal building surveyor to issue a building permit
- Refusal of a council to issue a statement of compliance for a plan of subdivision
- Compulsory acquisition by VicRoads or a local council
- Decision of the Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation not to issue a licence
- Refusing to grant a Visa
- Decision of a council not to release copies of documents under the Freedom of Information ActsÂ
